Please Pray for Kern County Royal Family Kids Camp of 2011

Prayer Circle at RFKC 2010

Kern County will celebrate the 17th annual Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC) hosted by Canyon Hills Assembly of God and administered by Covenant Community Services, Inc. (Covenant). RFKC is a week-long summer camp designed especially for the foster child. The curriculum is built around resiliency and best practices in social welfare mixed in with the love of God. RFKC will be held June 20th through the 24th in the Los Padres National Forest.

In 2011, RFKC of Kern County will take 5o foster children from the Kern County Department of Human Services. The children all live in out-of-home placements in Kern County either in group homes, foster family agency homes, Kern County foster care homes or adoptive/guardianship homes. The children are in the age range of 6-11 years old.

At RFKC, children experience many exciting and new opportunities such as horseback riding, swimming, games, activities, Bible messages, drama, “everybody’s birthday party”, a talent show and much more. RFKC is a chance for a child to dream and grow under the careful and safe guidance of compassionate volunteers. The camp is staffed by over 50 volunteers that give a week of their life and two 8 hour days for training.

Please help us make RFKC 2011 a wonderful camp by praying for the camp, the staff and the campers as directed below.

Dear Prayer Partner,

Thank you for your prayer in behalf of Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC) 2011. The time you spend in prayer will provide a covering for camp, the children, and the volunteer staff. We are confident that God will move miraculously at RFKC and we are blessed to know that your prayer has made a difference. As you know, prayer matters and it works effectively. Thank you for your intercession and labor in the Lord!

RFKC begins Monday, June 20th and ends Friday the 24th. Below are the names of the counselors, staff, and children we would like you to pray for. We give you these names so you can pray specifically. Please pray as directed by the spirit but also think about the recommendations on this letter. Again, we cannot thank you enough for your diligent and fervent prayer. I only wish you could feel the presence of the Lord at camp – perhaps in your prayer you can.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7                                           Prayer Suggestions

For the children:

Safety, God’s touch in their lives; the Holy Spirit to move and help erase memories of the past; hope; good times; fun; being a kid; receiving the Lord as Savior; strengthened by God; feeling of self-worth; assurance that adults can be safe people; good health at camp; comfort at camp; release into God’s care.

For camp:

That the power of God, the grace of God, the mercy of God, the love of God, and the value God gives each soul would be apparent and alive at camp; that the Holy Spirit would anoint each servant for the special needs of the children and be ever present in all activities, services, programs, and events. That Jesus Christ would be at camp touching lives and impacting children for eternity.

Thanks

I praise God for your faithful support and love. We anticipate enforcing the victory of Jesus up at RFKC and bringing you home an amazing report.  We “go” knowing that all of our efforts, and yours, are for the praise and glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thank you for the staff and the children,

Randy and Kim Martin ~ RFKC Directors
